I made a 10m wooden Dakar track on a board of only 2.44mx0.9m.
The track is built around a hilly landscape.
I mixed the sawdust from the MDF with some grit from the model train shop, to get a nice
desert look.
The roads are very bad in Africa so, with a chisel, I cut pieces of the track surface to get it
rough.
Inside you can see an African village, with a well, typical for Senegal.
The well contains a pulley made from an old rear axle and two water bags on a rope,
made from rubber bicycle tyre plaster.
A streamlet out of the rocks runs across the road in the direction of the village.
The local inhabitants are made from Scalextric figures.
